Yoko Shiraki, the promoter

Yoko Shiraki was created for the comic "Ashita No Joe" written by Asao Takamori and illustrated by Tetsuya Chiba in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" from 1968 to 1973.
Yoko Shiraki was the heroine for the comic. She was the only daughter of the Shiraki Combine.
At first she might love Toru Rikiishi. After his death, on managing Shiraki Boxing Gym she understood that she loves Joe Yabuki.

Akiko Hoshi, the eldest

Akiko Hoshi was created for the comic "Kyojin No Hoshi : Star Of The Giants" written by Ikki Kajiwara and illustrated by Noboru Kawasaki from 1966 to 1971 in "Weekly Shonen Magazine".
Akiko Hoshi was the daughter of Ittetsu Hoshi and the sister of Hyuuma Hoshi. She had watched over them struggling for their baseball, "Star Of The Giants".

Ruriko Wakatsuki, the asylum

Ruriko Wakatsuki was created for the comic "Tiger Mask" written by Ikki Kajiwara and illustrated by Naoki Tsuji on "Bokura Magazine" from 1968 to 1969 and from 1970 to 1971 on "Weekly Shonen Magazine".
Ruriko Wakatsuki was the heroine for the comic. She was a friend from childhood of Naoto Date and run for the orphanage "Chibbiko House" with her older brother Akira Wakatsuki. She wondered the true character of Tiger Mask was Naoto Date and had worried about him.

この双頭ユニットの作品はどれをとっても名盤である。と、謂うのは巷間、よく聴かれる評価であって、ぼくもそれを否定する理由はない。実際に、主だった作品は手許にあって、それらの作品からとっかえひっかえ聴いているのが日常だ。
同年代の作品群で謂えば、マイルス・デイヴィス (Miles Davis) のマラソン・セッション (The Legendary Prestige Quintet Sessions) [1956年5月11日及び1956年10月26日録音] の成果である4作品 [『クッキン (Cookin')』 [1957年発表]、『リラクシン (Relaxin')』 [1956年発表]、『ワーキン (Workin')』 [1959年発表]そして『スティーミン (Steamin')』 [1961年発表] ] とよく似ている。
では、あらためて、その中からどれか1枚をと問われたら、一体、どれを選べばいいのだろうか。

『ライヴ・イン・トーキョー (LIVE IN TOKYO)』 by ウェザー・リポート (WEATHER REPORT)

初めて聴いた作品はライヴ盤『エイト・サーティ (8:30)』 [1979年発表] で、一番好きな作品もそれ、『エイト・サーティ (8:30)』だ。
それは昔も今も変わらない。
彼等の作品はその後、その作品を起点にして聴いていく事になるのだが、結局、その作品に立ち返る羽目になる。

ティナ・ターナー (Tina Turner) は映画『トミー (Tommy)』 [ケン・ラッセル (Ken Russell) 監督作品 1975年制作] で知った。その作品で彼女は麻薬の売人であるアシッド・クイーン (The Acid Queen) を演じ、楽曲『気むずかしい女王 (The Acid Queen)』を歌い踊る。
ついでに記しておけば、リアル・タイム、映画公開時である。
