この作品を購入したのは、名作映画を彩る音楽作品だからとか、多くの映画音楽作品を創った巨匠の代表作だから、と謂うよりも、それとは別の動機があった様な記憶がある。
それはラウンジ・ミュージック (Lounge Music) の名作と謂う位置付けだ。

『ジ・エンド (THE END ...)』 by ニコ (NICO)

この記事で、イーディ・セジウィック (Edie Sedgwick) をアンディ・ウォーホル (Andy Warhol) の作品だと綴ったのだけれども、では本作品の主人公ニコ (Nico) はどうなのだろう。
謂うまでもなく彼女が参加したアルバム『ヴェルヴェット・アンダーグラウンド・アンド・ニコ (The Velvet Underground And Nico)』 [1967年発表] は、アンディ・ウォーホル (Andy Warhol) の作品ではあるが、だからと謂ってヴェルヴェット・アンダーグラウンド (The Velvet Underground) と謂うバンド自体は彼の作品ではない。寧ろ、彼の作品である事にとどまる事を潔しとせずに、彼から離れていった。
ぢゃあ、その作品を制作するにあたり、ニコ (Nico) と謂う女性をそのバンドにヴォーカリストとして宛てがったのはアンディ・ウォーホル (Andy Warhol) なのだろうが、ニコ (Nico) はイーディ・セジウィック (Edie Sedgwick) と同様の意味で、彼の作品なのだろうか。

『EARTH・SUN・MOON (EARTH•SUN•MOON)』 by ラヴ&ロケッツ (LOVE AND ROCKETS)

1+1+1=3であり、4-1=3だ。
でも、だからと謂って、最初の等式にある3と次の等式にある3が全く同じとは限らない。
しかも、そのふたつある3が全く同一のものであったとしても、1+1+1と4-1を等号で結ぶ事が出来るとは限らない。

"ENCHANTED CARESS" by ILLUSION

教科書的な物謂いをすれば、ヤードバーズ (The Yardbirds) とルネッサンス (Renaissance) のミッシング・リンク (Transitional Fossil) を繋ぐバンドの、しかもそのまぼろしの第3作と謂う事になる。
本来ならば、そのふたつのバンドを丁寧に紹介した上で、このバンドのこの作品に触れるべきなのだろうが、申し訳ない事にぼくは、ルネッサンス (Renaissance) と謂うバンドに関しては門外漢なのだった。
そんなぼくの視点からみると、キース・レルフ (Keith Relf) と謂うヴォーカリストの不運にばかりに気取られてしまう。

『ライヴ (Live)』 by ダニー・ハサウェイ (Donny Hathaway)

アーティスト自身の代表作であるばかりでなく、その当時のシーンや彼の音楽の属するジャンルを象徴する歴史的名盤と謂うのが一般的な位置づけである。
でも、だからと謂って所謂、名唱や名演が収録されていると謂うのとは、違うのではないのかなぁと個人的には思うのだ。
